Info

In the heart of Paddington’s tightly held heritage streetscape, a classic terrace has been thoughtfully transformed to support modern family life while preserving the stately integrity of its original fabric. The design navigates site constraints and heritage sensitivities through a tailored scope that includes a converted attic retreat, a new basement laundry, and a reconfigured open-plan kitchen and dining area—delivering comprehensive upgrades to this inner-city home.

Approved via a Development Application, the new attic level houses a serene primary suite with ensuite and walk-in robe—seamlessly integrated beneath the original roofline. A full-width skylight crowns the ensuite, washing the space in soft natural light while framing glimpses of neighbouring parapets and maintaining privacy.

Below, the ground floor opens to the rear courtyard, with a bespoke wet bar and living joinery enhancing the flow between interior and exterior living.

Materially, the design leans into restraint. Soft whites, warm timber and polished nickel fixtures create a timeless, textural base, while bespoke joinery subtly defines spaces without visual clutter.

Every detail is designed to feel intentional but effortless in a way that celebrates the heritage bones of the home while supporting contemporary ways of living.
